Hadith on Eden: Allah forgives those who mixed evil and good deeds

January 22, 2017

Samrah ibn Jundab reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Two angels came to me in the night and took me until we arrived at a city built with gold and silver bricks. We met some men whose first half was the most beautiful you had ever seen, and second half was the ugliest you had ever seen. The two angels said to them: Go and dip yourselves in this river. So they dipped themselves in it and then returned to us with their ugly half removed, such that they were in the best form. The two angels said to me: This is the Garden of Eden and that is your residence. As for those who were half beautiful and half ugly, they are those who mixed righteous deeds with evil deeds, and Allah pardoned them.”
