Hadith on Self: The Prophet seeks refuge in Allah from having an evil soul

December 14, 2016

Abu Rashid reported: Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “O Messenger of Allah, teach me what to say in the morning and evening.” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “O Abu Bakr, say: O Allah, originator of the heavens and earth, knower of the seen and unseen, there is no God but you, the Lord of all things and every dominion. I seek refuge in you from the evil within myself and from the evil of Satan and his idolatry, and I seek refuge that I commit evil myself or bring it upon a Muslim.”
