Hadith on Gender: Men and women are counterparts of each other

Aisha reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about a man who finds moisture but he does not remember having a nocturnal emission. The Prophet said, “He should take a bath.” The Prophet was asked about a man who remembers his emission but does not see moisture. The Prophet said, “He does not need to take a bath.” Umm Sulaim said, “Does a woman need to take a bath if she sees something like that?” The Prophet said, “Yes, for women are only the counterparts of men.

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الرَّجُلِ يَجِدُ الْبَلَلَ وَلَا يَذْكُرُ احْتِلَامًا قَالَ يَغْتَسِلُ وَعَنْ الرَّجُلِ يَرَى أَنَّهُ قَدْ احْتَلَمَ وَلَا يَرَى بَلَلًا قَالَ لَا غُسْلَ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ هَلْ عَلَى الْمَرْأَةِ تَرَى ذَلِكَ شَيْءٌ قَالَ نَعَمْ إِنَّمَا النِّسَاءُ شَقَائِقُ الرِّجَالِ
