Hadith on Generosity: The Prophet would always say yes to charity

March 13, 2012

Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was never asked anything for the sake of Islam but that he would give it. The Prophet gave a man large numbers of sheep, so the man went back to his people and said, “O my people! Embrace Islam for Muhammad gives in charity as if he has no fear of poverty!”

Anas said, “A man would initially embrace Islam only to gain something in the world, but he would continue practicing Islam until it became more beloved to him than the entire world and everything in it.”
