Hadith on Forgiveness: Reconcile and forgive those who wrong you

Uqbah ibn Amir reported: I met the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and I said, “O Messenger of Allah, tell me about virtuous deeds.” The Prophet said,“O Uqbah, reconcile with whoever cuts you off, give to whoever deprives you, and turn away from whoever wrongs you.

In another narration, the Prophet said, “And forgive whoever wrongs you.”

عن عقبة بن عمرو قَالَ لَقِيتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَخْبِرْنِي بِفَوَاضِلِ الْأَعْمَالِ فَقَالَ يَا عُقْبَةُ صِلْ مَنْ قَطَعَكَ وَأَعْطِ مَنْ حَرَمَكَ وَأَعْرِضْ عَمَّنْ ظَلَمَكَ

وفي رواية أخرى قال وَاعْفُ عَمَّنْ ظَلَمَكَ
