Hadith on Trust: The revelation of the Quran and Sunnah from which people learn honesty

Hudhaifa reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The trust descended from the heavens and settled in the hearts of men. The Quran was revealed and they read it in the Quran and learned it from the prophetic tradition (sunnah).”

An-Nawawi said, “According to an interpretation, the meaning of the trust is accountability for which Allah the Exalted has made the servants responsible and the covenant which He has taken from them.”

عن حذيفة حَدَّثَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ الْأَمَانَةَ نَزَلَتْ مِنْ السَّمَاءِ فِي جَذْرِ قُلُوبِ الرِّجَالِ وَنَزَلَ الْقُرْآنُ فَقَرَءُوا الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلِمُوا مِنْ السُّنَّةِ
