Hadith on Uprightness: Say I believe in Allah and then remain steadfast to it

December 13, 2010

Sufyan ibn Abdullah reported: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, tell me about a word in Islam after which I will not need to ask anyone besides you.” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Say: I have faith in Allah. Then remain steadfast to it.

In another narration, Sufyan said, “O Messenger of Allah, what do you fear most for me?” The Prophet pointed to his tongue and he said, “This.”
